Heidi

Inspired by the likes of Etta James, Carole King, Janis Joplin, and Melissa Etheridge, Heidi’s wide range and powerful voice are at the center of Mirage.

Taking her talents on the road at the tender age of 30, Heidi has been performing throughout NJ and PA as a soloist and with bands such as Soul Symphony, Backsplash, Special Guest and Mirage.

Whether it’s singing in street fairs, carnivals, picnics, church bazaars, smoky bars, clubs or weddings Heidi enjoys playing to the crowd.

Phil

Phil began his musical career at the age of 17 getting his “soul” from a bassist by the name of Donald Duck Dunn, best known for his work in The Blues Brothers.

Getting his start as the only male in an all female country band; Phil has performed for crowds all over NJ and PA. Bands Phil has performed with include, the Andi Rosell Band, Cruise Control, BackSplash, Special Guest and Mirage. Phil gets his warm deep sound from his Warwick bass and Carvin amplifier.

Joe

It all started for Joe when The Beatles appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show. Inspired by Ringo and then influenced by the likes of John Bonham, Ian Paice, Carl Palmer, Cozy Powell, and Buddy Rich, Joe provides energy and a solid back beat for Mirage.

He has been performing since the age of sixteen and during any given show, you will see him display his talent and enjoyment for playing rock, blues, metal, and dance. For Joe, it's all about the performance and audience involvement. Some of Joe's past bands include  Mad Hatter, Barracuda, Innocent Victim, and Vertigo covering the NJ and NY club circuits. He has performed at many venues including the Count Basie Theater and has opened for such acts as The Edgar Winter Group, Steppenwolf, and The Joe Perry Project.

Joe uses Ludwig and Yamaha drums and hardware, Paiste cymbals, Remo drumheads, Vater sticks, and Gibraltar Rack Systems exclusively.

Steve

With over 30 years of experience, Steven James brings a unique sound and flamboyant style to Mirage. SJ’s experience and style are wide and versatile. You can hear him laying solid rhythms to R&B and Blues music, melodic chord voicing in Jazz songs, solid rocking leads, runs and power chords required for today’s Rock music.

SJ’s styles and influences vary from Jazz guitarists like Pat Metheny and Larry Carlton to today’s guitar legends like Tony Iommi and Steve Vai. Having such a unique and vast playing style, SJ’s has had an accomplished career fulfilling bands immediate needs as a hired gun.

SJ’s uses Ibanez JEM’s, Charvel and Gibson Guitars, a custom rack power amp setup and a Roland GR guitar synthesizer.

Ron

Ron began playing drums in grammar school but the album KISS ALIVE 1 changed all of that. Once Ron heard those power chords it was all over for Mr. Z's drum class.  Playing in metal bands in the 80's to the likes of Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Metallica, etc., in the 90's it was time to switch gears. Getting back to basics, Ron helped form an acoustic trio specializing in vocal harmonies and soon after, became hooked on the soulful yet aggressive styles of SRV and many great blues guitarists before and after him.

Influenced by artists such as Jimmy Page, Tony Iommi, Ace Frehley, Ritchie Blackmore, Dave Murray, Stevie Ray Vaughn, John Mayer, and Mato Nanji. All of these influences can be heard in the variety of songs played by Mirage.

Ron gets his awesome sound from his Fender guitars and amp and his "2nd Born" custom Strat built by Warmoth
